Blogger Review

Method ~ of ~ Failed

"Method ~ of ~ Failed" is a blog run by Tim Heuer. He first began in blogging in 2003 and has been running the blog for 9 years. Heuer is a program manager for Microsoft and currently working on the client developer platforms on XAML in Windows and previously Silverlight. Tim Heuer has worked with Microsoft developer tools and technologies since the early 1990s. Before joining Microsoft, he worked as a consultant for 12 years helping to implement technology solutions to enable success in businesses across various industries such as health care, construction, real estate, and electronic commerce

His blog covers "Ramblings about .NET, Windows Live, web development, customer service, and all things random." His blog also features several "how to..." guides, product reviews, tips on creating and maintaining a blog or website, application development and management, reviewing new programs/software and random tidbits from his personal life.

For a blog that covers a wide array of topic under technology, Tim Heuer is doing a pretty stellar job of holding it all together without appearing too random. However, the interface of his blog could use some work. Some of his posts tend to be lengthy, so instead of letting readers scroll through an entire post that they don't care about, shortening it and adding a "read more." link will be a better idea and will also help keep his blog posts a bit more uniform in length. Additionally, the color of his headings and subheadings are too similar (heading is light blue and subheading are dark blue", this confused me, and made me think that the subheading was simply the beginning of a different blog post. To correct this issue, he could reduce the size of the subheading and change the color. Finally, while he had two different sets of archives, one based on the month and year and the other based on the tag/topic, the tag/topic based list is random and not in alphabetic order; So anyone who visits his blog to look for posts on a specific topic has to go through a long list to search for one topic.

Besides the three above mentioned issues, Method ~ of ~ Failed is an excellent blog that sticks to the subject and provides users with credible information.
